YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer
YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer is one of the first laboratory air flow type spray dryers in domestic China developed by Shanghai Pilotech Instrument and Equipment Co., Ltd. in 2005. The equipment is rapidly welcome and widely used by domestic universities' research institutes and enterprises’ R&D institutions due to its compactness, low noise, low power, but excellent drying effect. With the integrated design adopted by YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer, its originality and innovation lies in that the air compressor is built inside the equipment body. And the use of the highly-efficient shock absorption technology solves the noise pollution issue of traditional laboratory spray dryers. In 2016, our company also successfully developed a new concentric spray head to ensure the aligned atomization during spray drying for users, which once again leads the development of the laboratory spray drying technology. Currently, more than 2,000 universities & colleges, institutions and enterprises including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Southeast University, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tongji University, South China University of Technology, Jinan University, Nankai University, China Agricultural University and General Electric, have selected YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer and it has also been exported to more than 60 countries and regions including the United States, South Korea, Italy, Russia, Chile, Singapore, Hong Kong, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
I. Laboratory Spray Dryer YC-015 Working Principle
With the menu-based micro processing PLC controller, the inlet temperature, air flow volume, automatic de-blocker frequency, and peristaltic pump speed can be directly set to achieve data acquisition and process monitoring & control. The self-priming peristaltic pump delivers the sample liquid from the container through the nozzle into the drying chamber. Meanwhile, the compressed air enters the drying chamber from the outer sleeve to atomize the liquid. The hot air enters from the upper layer and meets the atomized droplet. The subject is instantaneously dried. The dried particles, after separated from the exhaust gas by a cyclone separator, enter the collection bottle. The exhaust gas is directly discharged to the atmosphere through a diameter hose or after filtered through an optional air filter device.
II. Application of YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer
YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer is mainly applicable to the production of a small amount of particle powders in laboratories of universities & colleges, research institutions and food, medicine & chemical companies. It also has broad applicability to all aqueous solutions such as emulsions and suspensions, and is suitable for drying non-thermally sensitive materials. III. Main Features of YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer

Easy to operate: The PLC automatic control, one-button boot and color touch screen operation are adopted for the control system. During the experiment, experiment parameters such as the amount of feed, inlet temperature, air flow volume, de-blocker frequency, etc. can be changed immediately according to experimental needs, user-friendly;

Steady operations: The core components of the equipment such as the touch screen, blower, heater and control system are of well-known imported brands, to ensure the stability and reliability of the equipment operations;

Material preparation convenience: The minimum material is only 20-50 ml, which is conducive to the processing and preparation of a small amount of samples. And the maximum processing capacity can reach 2,000ml/h, and even a large number of materials can also be processed extremely rapidly;

A concentric spray head: During the experiment, there will be no eccentric atomization or spraying to the bottle wall during spraying which will affect the collection rate. The spray head can move up and down to change the atomization position to improve the spray drying effect;

Temperature protection: At the end of the experiment, the heater temperature is extremely high, which requires the blower continue working to reduce the internal temperature to ensure the safety of the equipment. YC-015 Laboratory Spray Dryer’s program can automatically control the rotation of the blower. Even if the operator makes a mistake, he/she still cannot shut the blower down until the system temperature is reduced to the system default safe state. Then the blower will automatically stop;

Blower durability: The air is blown out by the positive pressure of the blower, and it is in the same direction as that of the materials. There will be no contact with the blower for all materials. The blower will not be polluted in any way and remain durable;

Minimal noise: a built-in oil-free air compressor, also with the use of a unique shock absorption technology, is very stable with low noise, easy to operate and handle. In order to prevent the long-term vapor corrosion, air tanks are made of SUS304 stainless steel;

Patented technologies: A a unique spray head cooling device (optional) is especially suitable for thermally-sensitive materials, and avoids the solidification & blockage of materials at the nozzle due to high-temperature during the long-term operation of the equipment; B the tower wall purging function can improve the yield effectively; C the unique glass assembly connection clamp technology: no matter how much force from the clamp, the glass assembly will not be damaged;

The spraying, drying and collection systems are made of the crystal, high-quality borosilicate glass material so that the spray drying process proceeds in a non-polluted and most stable environment, and the entire spray drying experiment process can be directly observed, which provides great convenience for scientific researchers to control the experimental process and experimental results. And they can discover and solve problems in a timely manner. All glass components are easy to disassemble and easy to clean.

In order to meet the users’ requirements for adjusting various parameters within the experimental range, a real-time tuning PID constant temperature control technology is adopted in the design of the drying temperature control, so that the temperature control within the full temperature range is accurate and the heating temperature control accuracy is ±1°C.

Upgrading option: it can be used in conjunction with Pilotech's unique closed inert gas circulation system, which can be used for laboratory spray drying of organic solvents;

Fully automatic control: One-button boot. After the spray process parameters are set and the temperature reaches the predetermined temperature, the peristaltic pump starts automatically;

Manual control: It is convenient to change parameters from the automatic state to the manual state

The spray head is a concentric one. It guarantees no eccentricity during atomization that may lead to spraying to the bottle wall. The spray head can move up and down after installed to facilitate the adjustment of the atomization position to improve the spray drying effect. The spray head is made of SUS316L stainless steel. ;

A built-in oil-free air compressor must be equipped with the stainless steel air tank to prevent corrosion (a separate air compressor is optional);

Shutdown protection function: just press the stop button when shutting down. The machine will stop running immediately except for the blower to ensure that the heating part of the equipment will not break down due to improper operation (shutting down the blower by force);

It can be upgraded to an organic solvent model with a nitrogen gas circulation system;

For the exhaust gas, 1 micron precision filter is optional;
